Biography

                                  Mathew Scott Bigler

As a child I loved to carve. My Uncle gave me my first tool,a pocket knife, and my first project was my Mother’s piano bench. In school I took all the art classes I could and I love to sketch caricatures . Carving them is even more fun. The master carving classes I have taken, from some of the best carvers in the country, have inspired me to think outside the box. I enjoy trying new techniques in wood. People from every country in the world have carved as a way to express themselves. I’m doing the same.

I’m from Apple Valley, California. I worked for the City of Henderson, Nevada for 25 years. I retired in 2016.

One of my life long dreams was to have a booth at the Saw Dust festival. That dream came true by meeting Karen. A great artist and sculptor in her own right has offered her work at the Winterfest for years. We married last February and now live in Oceanside, Ca. and work out of our studio. Thank you for taking your time to visit my website.
